Hello again!

If you didn't catch it the first time: I'm Riddhima, an aspiring designer and a junior in Information Sciences at UIUC. My studies mainly focus on human-computer interaction and user experience design.

Why design?

I first got into design because it gave me a sense of control — nothing could replace the feeling of matching a pleasing color palette with the perfect font. I now know that being a designer is about much more than just aesthetics — it can often involve giving up control, whether to stakeholders or constraints — and this realization has only made me love it more.

I design because:
• Design is in everything, and the issues and communities you can impact with it are limitless.
• Design grounds me. There will always be a lot I don't know about this field, and I find this fact to be more exciting than scary. I'm feel like I'm always learning about game-changing tools or entirely new ways of thinking.
• Design is fun! At the end of the day, something inherent to me simply loves doing it.

Some random fun facts

My favorite show
At the time of writing, "How To With John Wilson." If you like the idea of an awkwardly filmed yet undeniably profound take on the human experience, I highly recommend.
Something I think about frequently
Yes, I'm about to unironically quote Voltaire: "Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd." Change is arguably the only constant in our lives. When things feel chaotic, I like to remember these words.
My hobbies
Crocheting, watching video essays, reading, and junk journaling (this last one just gives me an excuse to hoard receipts and postcards). Despite being perfectly average at all of these, I'm always looking to add more.
I appreciate you reading this far! Here's a treat for your time ツ
